Abad Lopez is a member in Dykema's Chicago office. He is an experienced labor and employment attorney who focuses on representing management in litigation in federal and state courts and other tribunals throughout the United States. He has represented employers in a wide array of state and federal matters, including litigation of wrongful discharge claims, various tort-based common law claims, harassment claims, and discrimination and retaliation claims brought pursuant to Title VII, the FMLA, the ADA, the ADEA and various other state and local statutes.

Mr. Lopez also focuses a significant share of his practice on the defense of complex wage and hour claims, including collective actions under the federal Fair Labor Standards Act and class actions under the laws of many different states.

Prior to joining Dykema, Mr. Lopez was a senior trial attorney for a large Chicago labor and employment law firm, where he also served in several leadership roles during his tenure. He served as Assistant General Counsel for Class Actions and Employment Litigation for a Fortune 100 company. In this role, Mr. Lopez managed complex wage and hour and employment lawsuits. His role included managing all aspects of litigation in multi-state wage and hour and discrimination cases. Mr. Lopez has also conducted discrimination and harassment prevention training to corporate managers.
