Adam Fee

Adam Fee is special counsel in the New York office of Milbank, Tweed, Hadley & McCloy and a member of the firm’s Litigation & Arbitration Group.

Mr. Fee represents financial institutions, corporations, and individuals in government and internal investigations, white collar defense, complex civil litigation, and regulatory compliance.

Prior to joining Milbank, Mr. Fee served for more than five years as an Assistant United States Attorney for the Southern District of New York, Criminal Division, where he was a member of the Terrorism and International Narcotics Unit. He played a lead role in many of the government’s highest-profile money laundering, financial corruption, international terrorism, and espionage cases, including the investigation and prosecution of the former president of Guatemala, Alfonso Portillo, for a multi-million dollar bribery and money laundering scheme; the investigation and prosecution of a large South American financial institution for corruption and money laundering offenses; and the investigation and prosecution of three al Qaeda members responsible for bombing two US embassies in East Africa in 1998.

As an Assistant US Attorney, Mr. Fee was lead or co-lead trial counsel in numerous cases and argued before the Second Circuit on a wide range of issues. Mr. Fee also led dozens of sensitive investigations and prosecutions that were global in scope, and implicated a wide variety of offenses, including Foreign Corrupt Practices Act, bank and wire fraud, and export control violations, among others. He has coordinated with international law enforcement agencies and regulatory bodies throughout the world.

Prior to joining the United States Attorney’s Office, Mr. Fee was an associate in the New York office of Sullivan & Cromwell LLP, and served as a law clerk to two federal judges.
