Alan L. Kazlow

For over thirty-five years Mr. Kazlow has concentrated his practice in all areas of the cooperative and condominium field. As chairman of the cooperative and condominium departments of Dreyer & Traub and Fischbein Badillo Wagner Harding, he has represented most major developers and building owners in registrations of residential, commercial and mixed-use cooperative and condominium offering plans for hundreds of newly constructed, loft-rehab and rental buildings throughout the New York City metropolitan area. Mr. Kazlow authored the pioneering plans for the mixed-use Olympic Tower Condominium and the 1,100 unit condo/co-op Concord Village. His extensive practice includes representation of cooperative and condominium boards, institutional construction lenders, individual sellers, buyers, landlords and tenants, and in the areas of work-outs, bulk sales and acquisitions, auction sales, and cooperative mortgage refinancings. Currently, Mr. Kazlow is the chair of a joint committee of the New York State and City bar associations, working together to modernize the State’s condominium act.

A former Assistant Attorney General in the predecessor to the Real Estate Financing Bureau, Mr. Kazlow served as co-chairman of the Attorney General’s task force to revise the State’s Condominium Act and as consultant in promulgation of the Attorney General’s cooperative and condominium regulations. As subcommittee member of the New York State Bar Association, he participated in drafting the 1989 and 2001 standard form co-op Contract of Sale.
