Alec W. Farr

Alec Farr is a litigator with a practice focus on complex commercial and intellectual property litigation.

In the area of complex business and banking litigation, Mr. Farr has successfully represented corporations and financial institutions in matters involving claims of breach of contract, fraud, RICO, corporate disparagement, lender liability, negligence, indemnification and price-fixing. His experience includes advice and representation of financial institutions in matters concerning alleged fraudulent lending practices, inadequate loan origination disclosures, improper account management procedures and violations of RESPA, TILA and state consumer protection statutes. He has also represented clients in shareholder class actions and derivative litigation, change-of-control cases and litigation involving allegations of director and officer misconduct.

Mr. Farr’s intellectual property experience includes representing clients in trade secret, copyright, trademark and patent infringement litigation in a wide variety of industries including sustainable energy, financial services, telecommunications, internet, pharmaceuticals, entertainment and health care. Mr. Farr has also represented clients in litigation concerning non-compete, non-disclosure and non-solicitation agreements. He has also advised corporations concerning their non-compete, non-solicitation and intellectual property policies and agreements.

Mr. Farr has appeared before international arbitration panels and state and federal trial and appellate courts throughout the country. He is a member of the Board of Directors of the Council for Court Excellence and the Lawyer’s Committee for Civil Rights Under Law.
