Allison Worthy Buchner

Allison Buchner

is a partner in Kirkland's intellectual property and litigation groups. Allison's practice has focused on both intellectual property and general commercial litigation and trials. She has represented clients in patent infringement suits and trade secret cases involving a wide range of products and technologies, including medical devices and equipment, internet content delivery, telecommunications equipment and networking systems, voice-over IP technology, and toys. Allison has also represented clients in trademark and copyright matters, and provided general advice to clients relating to internal intellectual property strategies and best practices.

As a member of the Firm's litigation group, Allison has worked on numerous complex commercial disputes in federal, state, and appellate courts. She has represented corporate clients regarding contract disputes, unfair business practices, false advertising and consumer class actions.

Allison has experience in all phases of litigation, including initiating complaints, briefing extensive successful pre- and post-trial motions, managing discovery teams, working with expert witnesses, deposing and defending witnesses, preparing key fact witnesses for trial, and assisting in direct and cross examinations at trial.

Allison's active pro bono practice includes handling numerous adoption, guardianship, and special education advocacy cases for Los Angeles-based public interest organizations. She is also a member of the Board of Directors for Shane's Inspiration, a non-profit organization whose mission is to create universally-accessible playgrounds and programs that unite children of all abilities.
