Amy M. Tonti

Amy is a member of the Financial Industry Group, practicing in the area of Commercial Restructuring & Bankruptcy, focusing on financial institutions in out-of-court and state and federal court workouts, bankruptcy, distressed loan restructurings, and troubled commercial real estate loans. Her practice has included the representation of counterparties to financial contracts entitled to safe harbor protections under the Bankruptcy Code, debtors and borrowers, secured creditors, real property and equipment lessors, and creditors' committees. Recent assignments have included serving as counsel to secured lenders in multi-state restaurant chain insolvencies; workout, foreclosures, and collection regarding lenders' troubled loan portfolio; advising on the lien and intercreditor rights, obligations, perfection; acting as counsel to receivers in the liquidation of collateral; advising fiduciaries with respect to the intersection of insolvency and pension and other employee benefits; representing targets of preferential or fraudulent transfers, and counsel to creditors' committees formed in substantial manufacturing insolvencies.

She has lectured frequently on the topics of foreclosure, workouts and bankruptcy for the Allegheny County Bar Association and the Pennsylvania Bar Institute. Amy is certified as a trained mediator.
