Amy Lonergan is counsel in the Individual Clients department. She advises individuals and families in all aspects of estate and tax planning. Her practice ranges from straightforward estate planning for individuals and young families to developing complex plans that incorporate sophisticated strategies to transfer wealth to the next generation while minimizing estate and gift taxes. Amy counsels fiduciaries and beneficiaries in connection with estate and trust administration, including post-mortem estate and tax planning, the probate process and preparation of federal and state estate tax returns. Amy also regularly advises on all matters related to probate litigation including: trust, estate, fiduciary and heir litigation, breach of fiduciary duties, lack of capacity and undue influence.
Every year since 2012, Amy has been named a Massachusetts "Rising Star" in Estate Planning by Super Lawyers magazine. She was also named one of Super Lawyer's Top Women Attorneys in Massachusetts for 2014 and 2015.
