Mrs. Sheehan is an associate in the litigation department of Proskauer Rose, the New York law firm. In August, she will begin a federal clerkship for Judge Barrington D. Parker Jr. of the United States Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit. She received a law degree from Columbia. Her father is the manager of the Multilateral Investment Fund of the Inter-American Development Bank, which provides financing to accelerate the transformation toward market economies in Latin America and the Caribbean. Her mother is a volunteer in Washington with the St. Columba's-Truesdale Educational Partnership, part of the I Have a Dream program providing mentoring, enrichment and an opportunity for higher education to children from low-income areas.

Mr. Sheehan is a golf writer and senior editor at The Golfer magazine, which is based in New York. His mother teaches English at John Read Middle School in Redding, Conn. His father works in Southport as a corporate gift consultant operating under the name the Uncommon Market.
Mr. Sheehan has had extensive experience in insurance and regulatory matters and has represented a broad range of clients in connection with the financing, acquisition and regulation of life, health, property-casualty and financial guaranty insurers and related entities. He has represented clients on a wide variety of matters before state insurance departments.
