Andrew Berman is a Real Estate lawyer in Orrick’s New York office with a focus on real estate sales and acquisitions, equity investments and financings, development and construction projects, as well as commercial leasing. He acts for large public and private companies, institutional investors, REITS, investment banks and real estate funds.
A thought leader in the real estate industry and an alum of some of New York’s leading real estate law practices, Andrew left private practice from 2002 to 2014 to serve as a Professor at New York Law School, where he founded the Center for Real Estate Studies. He also directed its Institute for In-House Counsel.
Prior to joining Orrick, Andrew was a partner with Akerman LLP and Sidley Austin. He also previously practiced with Davis Polk and Wachtell Lipton. He is a Fellow of the American College of Real Estate Lawyers and the American College of Mortgage Attorneys.
Andrew has more than 25 years of experience in real estate and general corporate transactions. He has broad based expertise in all aspects of commercial real estate.
