Andrew W. Cheng

Andrew W. Cheng is a partner in the Los Angeles office of Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher, where he is a member of the Global Finance Practice Group. Since joining the firm in 2004, Mr. Cheng has focused primarily on representing borrowers, private equity sponsors and lenders in acquisition financings and other leveraged finance transactions, including syndicated senior secured credit agreements and Rule 144A high-yield offerings.

Representative matters include:

Representation of a software company in connection with an acquisition financing consisting of a $150 million senior secured credit facility.
Representation of a public aerospace company in connection with an acquisition financing consisting of a $250 million senior secured credit facility and a Rule 144A private placement of $200 million in senior notes.
Representation of a public pharmaceutical company in connection with senior secured credit facilities made to early stage life sciences companies.
Representation of a major bank in connection with senior secured credit facilities established to finance several sponsor acquisitions.
Representation of private equity firms in connection with acquisition financings and recapitalizations for several portfolio companies.

Prior to joining Gibson, Dunn, Mr. Cheng practiced as a corporate associate with Cravath, Swaine & Moore LLP in New York City. Mr. Cheng received his law degree from Harvard Law School in 2000. He earned a Bachelor of Arts degree magna cum laude with distinction in 1997 from Amherst College.

Mr. Cheng is admitted to practice in the States of California and New York.
