Anthony R. Salandra

Tony R. Salandra is a member of the firm’s real estate practice focusing primarily on acquisition, disposition, exchange, financing and refinancing of commercial, residential, retail, industrial and hotel properties and distressed real estate, loans, and mortgage pools.

Practice & Background

Mr. Salandra handles the structuring and restructuring of the real estate holdings of legal entities and their constituents, including real estate loan workouts, asset transactions and foreclosures, in and out of bankruptcy.

He has also spent a substantial part of his career as a tax lawyer representing individuals and other legal entities in federal, state and local tax matters involving income, franchise, sales, property insurance and business taxes.

Mr. Salandra received his A.B. in psychology in 1977 from Muhlenberg College, where he was on the dean’s list. He received his J.D. cum laude in 1980 from the Pepperdine University School of Law, where he was the salutatorian and an articles editor of the Pepperdine University Law Review. He received his LL.M. in taxation from the New York University School of Law in 1982.

Mr. Salandra’s recent engagements include:

the acquisition and resolution of loan portfolios acquired from the FDIC and entering related public-private partnerships with the FDIC
various land development ventures and financings for high end resort and multi-use properties
residential, office, land and development acquisitions, dispositions and financings
the representation of a wide variety of clients in real estate loan workouts, deed-in-lieu transactions, DIP financings and dispositions of real estate assets in and out of bankruptcy.
