Ashby R. Scott

Ashby Scott understands that her clients' needs change with the ebb and flow of economic times and she works to assist in all of their commercial real estate projects. She assists in various types of real estate transactions and is effective at representing her clients at all stages of their commercial real estate projects, from negotiating favorable documents on the front end that will protect her clients' positions and needs, to addressing any and all unexpected issues that may arise with her clients' real estate projects along the way.

Ms. Scott primarily focuses her practice in commercial real estate. She acts on behalf of her clients in all aspects of acquiring, developing, constructing, leasing, managing, and financing commercial real estate developments for national, regional, and local property owners, developers as well as financial institutions.

Ms. Scott advises her clients in several types of commercial real estate transactions including but not limited those involving:

Negotiation of office and retail leases as well as ground leases
Financing the purchase and development of projects
The purchase and sale of vacant and improved commercial real property
Project development

She has been involved in the negotiation of leases for national headquarters for several businesses, the development of mixed use communities in various locations throughout Tennessee, and the structuring and negotiation of multimillion-dollar loans for the development of a variety of commercial projects.

She graduated magna cum laude from the University of Memphis School of Law in 2003, where she was a member of the Law Review and a recipient of the Amy Ragsdale Memorial Law Scholarship, the Dean's Award for Academic Excellence, the Best Appellate Brief in Moot Court Competition, and the Best Appellate Brief in Legal Methods. She also graduated summa cum laude from the University of Tennessee in 2000, where she was a member of three honor societies.

Ms. Scott is a member of the Memphis and Tennessee Bar Associations. She attends church regularly at Northside United Methodist Church in Jackson, Tennessee, and is an active member of the parents' association. She frequently volunteers at the University School of Jackson, where her son attends, and enjoys spending her free time with her two young children.
