Ashley concentrates her practice on construction, real estate development and land use. Her construction practice focuses on the representation of project owners and developers, both public and private. She assists them in the negotiation and preparation of project documents for design, construction and project management. Representative projects include corporate campuses, hotels, retirement communities, healthcare facilities, manufacturing facilities, offices, and student apartments. She also represents clients in connection with projects being developed under Virginia's Public-Private Education Facilities and Infrastructure Act of 2002 (PPEA), including the drafting of both interim and comprehensive agreements.

In her land use and zoning practice, she has assisted clients in obtaining land use approvals for mixed-use developments, age restricted residential developments, retail centers, offices, residential subdivisions, and convenience stores. She also obtained local land use approvals in multiple jurisdictions for wireless telecommunications towers and related facilities. She has conducted and coordinated multistate zoning due diligence projects in connection with other transactions.
