Ashley Provost is an Of Counsel attorney in Williams Mullen’s Health Care Section. She focuses her practice on a variety of health care issues, particularly transactional matters such as mergers, acquisitions and joint ventures. Her clients include hospitals, outpatient facilities, long-term care providers, physicians, physician practice groups and other health care entities.

Ashley also has experience in general corporate, governance, regulatory and contract matters, including entity formation and maintenance, corporate formalities, Stark Law compliance, Certificate of Public Need (COPN) and employment and other contractual agreements.

Ashley has served as in-house counsel for two nationally ranked health care systems, where she worked with business clients on inpatient and outpatient matters, including the development of large, multi-specialty outpatient medical centers and urgent care centers. She also advised clinicians on patient care issues such as informed consent, substituted decision-making, termination or discharge of a patient from a practice and obligations under the Emergency Medical Treatment & Labor Act (EMTALA).

In 2015, she was selected as an Adjunct Instructor at Georgetown University’s School of Nursing and Health Studies, where she taught a course titled “Legal Environment of Health Care.” She received her Juris Doctor degree, magna cum laude, from the University of Richmond School of Law and a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of North Carolina.
