Brandon M. Ress

Brandon M. Ress is counsel in King & Spalding’s Intellectual Property Practice group. His practice includes all aspects of trademark prosecution, transactions, policing, and counseling, as well as intellectual property and Internet-related litigation involving trademark, trade secret, copyright, and unfair competition claims. He has represented clients in contested proceedings before the Trademark Trial and Appeal Board and has prosecuted trademark applications for businesses in the consumer product, retail, restaurant, insurance, medical device, oil and gas, and software industries. He counsels Fortune 500 clients in numerous industries on various intellectual property issues. Mr. Ress has also worked with entrepreneurs, artists, and software developers to help them take steps necessary to protect their intellectual property rights.

While in law school, Mr. Ress was awarded Dean's Awards in Copyright Law and Trademark and Unfair Competition Law. He received his Intellectual Property law concentration with honors, was the Managing Editor of the Journal of Science and Technology Law, and was a Research Assistant to Professor Wendy Gordon.
