Brian A. McAleenan

BRIAN A. MCALEENAN is a partner in the firm’s Chicago office. Brian has a broad litigation and regulatory practice. His litigation experience includes cases involving: general contract and commercial disputes; telecommunications; securities fraud; fiduciary duties and corporate governance; and fraudulent transfers. His regulatory experience includes: ratemaking and certification proceedings before the Illinois Commerce Commission; adjudication proceedings before the Federal Communications Commission; and advising companies on general utility regulation issues, including affiliated interests and public utility status.

Brian's recent representations include: an investment fund manager in fraudulent transfer and securities fraud litigation stemming from the fallout of a $3 billion Ponzi scheme; an investment fund manager in fraudulent transfer and securities fraud litigation arising out of the collapse of a large, privately-held oil and gas transportation company; a major telecommunications carrier in litigation concerning access charge arbitrage; a major electric utility in a ratemaking proceeding; and two large investors in a money market fund in litigation seeking recovery of their investments after the fund “broke the buck.”
