Brian J. Gallagher

Brian J. Gallagher is an intellectual property attorney with a degree in biochemistry and more than eight years of experience as an Engineer Officer in the U.S. Army Reserve. His practice includes patent, trademark, copyright, and trade secret matters, as well as related contract matters and litigation. He has significant experience preparing and prosecution patent applications in the areas of electronic control systems, software, medical devices, chemical processes, and biotechnology.

Brian graduated summa cum laude from the Duquesne University School of Law, where he served as a staff editor of the Duquesne Law Review and treasurer of the Duquesne Intellectual Property Law Association. During law school, Brian clerked for the Honorable Michael E. McCarthy of the Allegheny Court of Common Pleas, and gained courtroom experience serving as an advocate for veterans in criminal matters through the Duquesne University Veterans’ Court Clinic.

During his undergraduate studies, Brian obtained research grants from Ohio University to investigate the effect of UVB radiation on skin-cell signaling pathways, and from the German government to conduct inorganic chemistry research at the University of Leipzig. Brian also spent a summer interning as a Patriot Missile Platoon Leader in South Korea and completed U.S. Army Airborne School as a Reserve Officer Training Corps cadet.
