Brittany D. Parling

Brittany Parling is a litigation attorney who focuses her practice on complex commercial litigation, including class actions, intellectual property litigation, and shareholder litigation. She also has assisted and advised companies in transaction due diligence and with training on antibribery compliance matters.

Prior to joining Jones Day in 2016, Brittany represented a national bank in consumer litigation matters, a global health care company in a securities class action, and several companies in trade secret misappropriation litigation. She also has experience litigating trademark matters before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office's Trademark Trial and Appeal Board.

Brittany is a former clinical fellow at the Roderick and Solange MacArthur Justice Center at Northwestern University School of Law, where she represented individuals in federal civil rights and state post-conviction cases involving wrongful convictions. Her prior pro bono work includes representing an individual in a successful post-conviction challenge to his mandatory juvenile life-without-parole sentence before the Illinois Appellate and Supreme Courts and representing an individual in all stages of federal criminal proceedings, including a suppression hearing, trial, successful appeal before the Seventh Circuit Court of Appeals, and a second trial resulting in an acquittal.

Brittany is a member of the Michigan State University College of Arts & Letters Alumni Association Board of Directors and a former member of the Justice Council of Northwestern University School of Law's Center on Wrongful Convictions.
