Bryan Johnson focuses his practice in the areas of complex commercial, professional liability, construction, and employment litigation matters. He has significant experience in state and federal courts across the country, including trial and appellate work, as well as binding arbitration.
Bryan helps his business clients resolve disputes. His litigation experience includes successful resolution of matters involving breach of contract and breach of fiduciary duty claims, restrictive covenants, partnership disputes, business torts, defamation, fraud, and a variety of real estate disputes and construction-related litigation, ranging from worksite injury to property defect matters and delay claims to mechanics lien issues. He has represented commercial tenants and landlords in commercial lease disputes, and has extensive experience representing internet technology companies in contract disputes with internet marketing affiliates.
In addition to his litigation work, Bryan also counsels corporate clients regarding a broad range of transactional matters, including business formation, contract negotiation, strategic organizational and operational considerations, and provides risk assessment and risk minimization advice. He has extensive experience counseling landlord and tenant real estate clients on commercial lease agreements. Bryan has counseled corporate clients in a variety of industries, including sports marketing, healthcare consulting, bars and restaurants, product manufacturers, construction contractors and design professionals, retailers, salons, and recreation centers.
Bryan is an active member of the Chicago Bar Association, having previously served as Chair of the Chicago Bar Association’s Commercial Litigation Committee. In addition, Bryan maintains a robust pro bono practice. He has litigated landlord-tenant disputes, represented elderly and disabled tenants seeking reasonable accommodations under the Fair Housing Act, and has represented an individual in the purchase of a restaurant, among other matters.
