Bryant Gardner is a partner in Winston & Strawn’s Washington, D.C. office who concentrates his practice in transportation and logistics-related transactions, litigation, and regulatory matters, with an emphasis on maritime and energy issues.

Mr. Gardner’s experience includes transportation and logistics contracts drafting and dispute resolution, regulatory counseling, government contract negotiations and disputes, fleet refinancing, newbuild financing and delivery, Shipping Act litigation, import/export regulations, and matters involving the carriage of goods including regulated hazardous materials. He also has extensive experience representing carriers, terminals, port authorities, shippers, financial institutions, and other transportation industry clients before the Congress, Federal Maritime Commission, Department of Transportation, Coast Guard, Maritime Administration, Environmental Protection Agency, Office of Foreign Assets Control, Bureau of Industry and Security, Customs Service, Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration, Pipeline and Hazardous Materials Safety Administration, and other agencies.

Mr. Gardner received a B.A. in Political Economy, summa cum laude, from Tulane University in 1996, where he was a member of Phi Beta Kappa. He received a J.D., cum laude, from Tulane Law School in 2000, where he was editor-in-chief for the Tulane Maritime Law Journal.
