Byron R. Holz

Byron is a senior associate in the Intellectual Property Litigation Group focused on patent litigation and portfolio analysis. He has worked on patent cases throughout the country, including E.D. Texas, Delaware, N.D. California, New Jersey, W.D. Wisconsin and the International Trade Commission. Byron has also consulted on technology issues in other types of complex litigation.

Byron’s experience spans patents in many fields, such as wireless communications, integrated circuits, electronic security and privacy, network infrastructure, software, user interfaces and automotive safety. He previously worked as an engineer in wireless communications, including as a consulting expert in multidistrict product liability litigation.

From 2007 to 2008, Byron served as law clerk to the Honorable Marilyn L. Huff at the United States District Court for the Southern District of California. He has also served as an extern for the Honorable Margaret McKeown at the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit.

In 2007, Byron received his J.D., magna cum laude, from the University of San Diego School of Law, where he served as a lead articles editor for the San Diego Law Review. Byron graduated from Swarthmore College in 1998 with a B.S. in engineering and a B.A. in music.
