As a trusted business advisor and legal counsel, Mr. Gustafson counsels the senior leadership at his clients about operations, governance, growth, and risk management. His clients include: technology and telecommunications companies, consulting firms, federal government contractors, associations, national and regional financial institutions, and insurance companies.

In the corporate practice, Mr. Gustafson counsels clients regarding their formation, growth and operations. His experience includes the development of business and non-profit entities; commercial contracting and vendor relationships; technology commercialization and licensing; product line and services development and risk management; regulatory analysis; general governance and process management; employment and personnel issues; strategic partnering and multi-party development and coordination; and strategic visioning and execution with client leadership.

In the business litigation and bankruptcy practice, Mr. Gustafson’s experience includes business disputes, workouts, creditors’ rights, Chapter 11 committee and debtor representation, bankruptcy litigation, financial institutions defense, insurance coverage and subrogation, and contract surety and fidelity bond claim matters. He has handled hundreds of business litigation, commercial collection and workout matters on behalf of commercial creditors and financial institutions seeking to collect upon or restructure financing and collateral arrangements, terms of sale or supply, and in extensions of existing or additional credit facilities. His bankruptcy litigation experience includes matters surrounding nondischargeability, objections to discharge, personal liability for corporate debt, lien validity and priority, conveyance liability, and challenges to claims. He has performed motion, trial and appellate work representing creditors, business debtors, creditors committees, officers and directors, and equity holders.
