Carol M. Wood

Carol Wood is a partner in and the leader of King & Spalding’s National Tort and Environmental Practice Group. She joined the firm in 1989 after spending seven years as a Senior Legislative Aide in the United States House of Representatives in Washington, D.C., where she focused on environmental issues. Ms. Wood has a broad practice in the areas of U.S. environmental and toxic tort litigation, and international arbitration involving environmental disputes. She has extensive experience in defending energy, manufacturing and real estate clients against personal injury, property damage , environmental compliance and remediation claims involving soil, sediment and groundwater impacts from petroleum, metals, radioactive materials, chlorinated solvents, PCBs, and other contaminants. She specializes in taking complex technical concepts and presenting them to fact finders in simple, understandable terms.
