Chad D. Terrell

Chad Terrell’s law practice covers all areas of intellectual property law, with an emphasis on patent portfolio development and assessment, patent procurement licensing and litigation involving a wide range of technologies.

Mr. Terrell helps clients of all sizes identify, develop and protect their intellectual property assets. He has prepared and prosecuted patent applications in a wide range of technologies, including software, business methods, information technology management, supply chain management, telecommunications, RFID, wireless components, network infrastructure, electronics, semiconductors, medical equipment and the mechanical arts.

Mr. Terrell has performed offensive and defensive patent studies regarding the possible applicability of a client’s patents to third-party products and activities or, conversely, the potential applicability of third-party patents to products or activities of a client. He has also performed due diligence reviews, including evaluating the intellectual property assets of potential acquisition targets and evaluating and categorizing patent portfolios of clients.

Mr. Terrell’s litigation experience includes controversies related to misappropriation of trade secrets, patent infringement, trademark infringement and breach of agreements governing intellectual property assets.
