Christian G. Vergonis

Chris Vergonis is a trial and appellate lawyer who represents clients at all levels of the state and federal judiciaries, including the United States Supreme Court. He focuses a significant amount of his practice on constitutional, statutory, and regulatory litigation against the United States and other governmental entities.

Some of Chris's recent undertakings include litigating a successful separation-of-powers challenge to the authority of the Public Company Accounting Oversight Board; assisting a foreign bank in a regulatory dispute with the United States Treasury Department under the Patriot Act; challenging commercial-advertising restrictions under the First Amendment; representing plaintiffs (including biotechnology and pharmaceutical companies) in lawsuits against the United States and its agencies under the Administrative Procedure Act, the Federal Tort Claims Act, and the U.S. Constitution; and representing research institutions in disputes under the Bayh-Dole Act.

Chris also has a trial and international arbitration practice that spans several industries and includes significant experience handling complex commercial disputes, antitrust and patent matters, and civil RICO cases. Representative clients include Bayer AG, Chevron, Delta Asia Financial Group, Menasha Corporation, Mount Sinai School of Medicine, Pfizer, R.J. Reynolds, SARP Industries/Onyx, Stanford University, Texas Instruments, Trinity Health, and WorldSpace International.

Chris has written or coauthored several articles and white papers on constitutional law and statutory interpretation and previously served as the publications chair of the Administrative Law & Regulation Section of the Federalist Society.
