Christopher M. Healey

Chris Healey's practice focuses on corporate restructuring and bankruptcy-related matters, including proceedings under chapters 9 and 11 of the Bankruptcy Code, SIPA liquidations, out-of-court restructurings, and related bankruptcy litigation. He has represented debtors, secured and unsecured creditors, committees, trusts and trustees, bank groups, and other parties in interest in a variety of matters. These representations include clients in the telecommunications, financial, manufacturing, insurance, automotive, and entertainment industries.

Chris' experience has exposed him to a wide range of bankruptcy issues, including the confirmation and implementation of chapter 11 plans, real estate issues, fraudulent transfer and preference claims, commodity broker liquidations, cramdown, enterprise valuation, complex litigation, municipal bankruptcy issues, and creditors' rights. Recently, Chris has represented the City of Detroit in its historic chapter 9 case; a group of creditors in the MF Global Holdings bankruptcy cases that drafted and obtained confirmation of a plan of liquidation for all debtors; reorganized MF Global Holdings and a related litigation trust in the implementation of the debtors' confirmed plan; National Public Finance Guarantee Corporation in the Jefferson County, Alabama chapter 9 case; debtor Plant Insulation Company in its asbestos-related chapter 11 case; Financial Guaranty Insurance Company as a creditor with more than $1 billion in claims in the Residential Capital chapter 11 case; and the post-confirmation trust of Fleming Companies in the resolution of tax claims and the closing of its bankruptcy case.

Chris is a member of the bar associations of Ohio, California, and Columbus and, prior to joining Jones Day's Columbus Office, was an associate with Jones Day in Los Angeles.
