Christopher M. Kise is a partner and litigation lawyer with Foley & Lardner LLP. He concentrates his practice in the areas of major appeals, complex corporate litigation, significant state and federal white collar defense matters, constitutional law and representation of regulated industries in the energy and transportation sectors. Mr. Kise serves as co-chair of the Appellate Practice and is a member of the Business Litigation & Dispute Resolution and Government Enforcement, Compliance & White Collar Defense Practices. He is also a member of the Energy and Manufacturing Industry Teams.

Mr. Kise has enjoyed an extensive legal career in both the public and private sectors, litigating high profile commercial, constitutional and regulatory disputes, serving as a confidante and legal and policy advisor to two Florida Governors, and as Florida’s Solicitor General (the State’s top litigator).

Mr. Kise has argued successfully three times before the United States Supreme Court and filed briefs in more than a dozen cases before the high court. He has also handled and been involved in dozens of cases before the Florida Supreme Court involving a wide variety of subject matters, including significant constitutional issues, electric utilities, telecommunications, the health care and pharma sectors, Florida’s public records law and criminal matters. His litigation practice extends throughout the United States representing individuals, private and public corporations and government entities in major trial and appellate matters. Mr. Kise also frequently counsels clients as to the constitutionality of pending or proposed legislation or government regulation.

In addition to his substantial litigation experience, Mr. Kise served as counsellor to Florida Governor Charlie Crist and as general counsel to Florida Governor Rick Scott’s Transition Team.
