Christopher M. Morrison

Chris Morrison's practices sits at the intersection of litigation and intellectual property rights, whether those rights are publicized in patents and trademarks, secured by licenses, or maintained as trade secrets. He has appeared in federal courts across the country and has experience trying cases in the Boston Federal Court and in Massachusetts state courts. He has argued several cases in the Massachusetts Appeals and Supreme Judicial Courts.

Chris currently coordinates the defense of Vibram USA in a putative class action regarding Vibram's popular FiveFingers shoes. He is a key member of the Jones Day trial team for several patent infringement and trade secret actions pending in Boston and elsewhere. Chris is known for his ability to translate complex issues, often involving scientific subject matter, into terms that are more easily understood by laypersons, including fact finders and judges at all stages of litigation, including motion proceedings, Markman hearings, and at trial.

Chris is active in the Boston Bar Association, where he serves on the Council and on the Public Service Oversight Committee. He also has served as co-chair of the Litigation Section and of the Business Litigation and Antitrust Committee. In addition, he is a member of the Federal Bar Association, serves on the Medfield School Committee, and is chair of the Boston Chapter of the Boston College Law School Alumni Association. In 2007, the Supreme Judicial Court of Massachusetts appointed Chris to the Mental Health Legal Advisors Committee, an organization created to advise the courts on mental health issues.
