Christopher Sousa is an associate at Morrison & Foerster LLP, where he focuses on commercial litigation.
Mr. Sousa represents multinational corporations in complex antitrust litigation in federal and state courts by drafting motions and pleadings, conducting legal research on current antitrust issues, and taking a lead role on extensive fact investigation efforts. In his time at Morrison & Foerster, Mr. Sousa has practiced in the fields of state and federal antitrust law, state consumer protection law, and the federal securities laws. Mr. Sousa has also developed a diverse pro bono practice, successfully representing immigration and guardianship petitioners located domestically and abroad.
Prior to joining Morrison & Foerster, Mr. Sousa worked as a fellow at the Lawyers’ Committee for Civil Rights Under Law. There, Mr. Sousa represented clients in disability rights, Fourth Amendment, and section 1983 litigation.
Mr. Sousa received a B.A. from Washington University and a J.D. from Georgetown University. Mr. Sousa graduated cum laude from Georgetown, where he was recognized for legal excellence in Constitutional Law, and was a member of the executive board of the American Criminal Law Review. In that capacity, Mr. Sousa served as Managing Editor of the Twenty-Fourth Survey of White Collar Crime, overseeing the editorial process for an annual publication that tracks developments in diverse areas of criminal law such as antitrust, conspiracy, RICO, obstruction of justice, and mail and wire fraud.
While in school, Mr. Sousa clerked at the offices of prosecutors and public defenders, taking the lead in motions practice and actively participating in trial preparation.
Mr. Sousa has policy experience, acquired developing advocacy strategies for a national lobbying organization and a local political campaign. At his Georgetown clinic, Mr. Sousa represented a non-profit organization advocating reforms to federal discrimination laws, drafting policy briefs and executing communication strategies.
