Christopher Fenton is counsel in the Litigation Group at Shearman & Sterling. He advises and represents multinational corporations, global financial institutions, and their directors and officers in securities fraud class actions and regulatory matters, as well as in highly complex commercial litigation in federal and state courts. He is also experienced in a broad range of civil and criminal matters, including bankruptcy litigation, internal and international investigations and international arbitration. In 2012, 2013, and 2014, Mr. Fenton was recognized by New York Super Lawyers as a ‘Rising Star’ in the field of securities and business litigation.

Mr. Fenton also regularly represents pro bono clients in federal and state criminal matters and received an award from The Legal Aid Society in recognition of outstanding pro bono representation in connection with a criminal appeal that he argued before the First Department, Appellate Division, New York State Supreme Court. He also dedicates his time to a variety of other causes. Most recently, he argued before the Minnesota Court of Appeals as lead counsel to The Humane Society of the United States in connection with its challenge of a permit granted to a concentrated animal feeding operation.
