Christopher S. "Topher" Turner is a litigation counsel in the Washington, D.C. office of Latham & Watkins and a member of the Securities Litigation and Professional Liability Practice Group. He has broad experience in complex commercial litigation, with a concentration on corporate governance litigation and investigations, including internal investigations, enforcement actions and securities and ERISA class actions. Mr. Turner has defended companies and individuals in securities fraud investigations by the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) and in shareholder class action litigation. He has represented Big Four auditors in investigations by the SEC and defended auditors against the SEC Division of Enforcement in administrative hearings. Mr. Turner also has substantial experience defending companies and individuals in class actions brought by employee benefit plan participants under the Employee Retirement Income Security Act of 1974.

Prior to joining Latham, Mr. Turner served as a law clerk for Judge Thomas W. Thrash of the United States District Court for the Northern District of Georgia.
