As a prosecutor and ultimately as first assistant in the Chicago U.S. Attorney's Office, he focused on matters involving allegations of complex financial crimes. He was the lead prosecutor in the "Greylord" judicial corruption project and personally prosecuted a number of judges, lawyers, and court personnel.
