David A. Koempel is a partner in Holland & Knight's Portland office and a member of the firm's Tax Credit Transactions Group. He also practices in the areas of private equity financing, federal taxation, mergers and acquisitions, and real estate and other commercial transactions.

Mr. Koempel concentrates his practice in tax and business transactions with an emphasis on real estate syndication, partnership law and private equity financing of partnerships and limited liability companies. He has extensive experience representing large syndicators and direct investors in low-income housing tax credit investments. Mr. Koempel also has extensive experience representing clients in connection with private equity investments and private equity fund formation, including private equity funds managing more than $375 million in committed capital.

Prior to practicing law, Mr. Koempel lived in Hong Kong for more than seven years working in the international air transportation industry and the live entertainment and recording industries.
