David C. Lawrence’s practice focuses on intellectual property litigation and complex commercial litigation, including patent, copyright and trademark infringement, trade secret disputes, consumer class actions, antitrust actions, complex contract disputes, business torts, products liability and other civil litigation matters.
Practice & Background
Mr. Lawrence has bench and jury trial experience in state and federal courts and in arbitration. He has extensive experience in all areas of litigation, including investigating and preparing case filings, conducting hearings on dispositive motions, taking and defending fact and expert depositions, drafting motions and briefs, preparing cases for trial, and trying cases. Mr. Lawrence also has appellate experience in the Texas Courts of Appeals, the Texas Supreme Court, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 5thand 10thCircuits and the U.S. Supreme Court.
Mr. Lawrence received his J.D. with Honors from The University of Texas School of Law and his B.B.A with Honors in Finance from the University of Texas McCombs School of Business. During law school, he served as an intern to Justice Mack Kidd of the 3rd District Court of Appeals of Texas.
Mr. Lawrence is a member of the American Bar Association, the Austin Bar Association and the Austin Young Lawyers’ Association. He serves as the Austin representative on the firm’s Chair’s Committee.
