David F. Clossey

David Clossey has represented a broad range of publicly and privately held companies, real estate development firms, and private equity firms, principally in transactional and finance matters. A substantial portion of his practice has involved cross-border and other international matters.

In recent years, David has been significantly involved in transactional and other matters for a number of public companies headquartered in the United States; for RHJ International, S.A., a private equity firm headquartered in Brussels and principally focused on investments in Europe and in Asia; and for a number of privately held companies based in the United States and in Europe.

In the mid-1980s, David was one of the managing partners, chief financial officer, and chief administrative officer of the Dallas-based Trammell Crow Company, then the largest real estate development firm in the United States. For several years thereafter, David was a partner in a small New York-based investment banking firm founded by James D. Wolfensohn, subsequently president of the World Bank, and Paul Volcker, former chairman of the board of governors of the Federal Reserve System.

In his 35 years with Jones Day, David has held a number of leadership positions in the Firm, including in New York as Partner-in-Charge of the International Practice, in Paris as chairman of Jones Day Europe, and in Dallas as Partner-in-Charge of the Texas Region.
