David L. Wallach

David Wallach counsels clients on complex global disputes. His U.S. practice focuses on litigating commercial disputes relating to events in foreign countries. David has experience defending against claims under the Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations Act (RICO), the Alien Tort Statute, the Torture Victim Protection Act, and state tort and competition laws. He also is experienced in seeking and opposing discovery in the United States under 28 U.S.C. § 1782 for use in foreign litigation and international arbitration. David served on the trial team in Bowoto v. Chevron Corporation, which was recognized as the 2008 California defense verdict of the year by various legal publications.

David's global practice focuses on international commercial arbitration and advising clients involved in complex disputes that involve simultaneous proceedings in multiple jurisdictions. Presently, he is advising Chevron with respect to a $19 billion judgment from Ecuador, which includes U.S. litigation, transnational discovery, foreign enforcement proceedings, and investment arbitration.

David also has an active pro bono practice. He has successfully represented clients in matters involving prisoners rights, religious discrimination, and domestic violence.
