David S. Torborg

Dave Torborg has more than 15 years of experience representing clients in complex commercial disputes in courts around the United States and before arbitration panels. His practice focuses on financial disputes, corporate and government investigations, and defending claims brought under whistleblower statutes. Dave has represented pharmaceutical manufacturers, health care providers, creditors' committees, consumer products manufacturers, natural resource providers, and educational institutions.

Recent representations include defending allegations concerning the pricing of pharmaceuticals, prosecuting a claim of auditor malpractice, defending allegations regarding a higher education institutions' compensation of admissions personnel, and litigating antitrust allegations involving a large health care provider and health insurer. Dave has played key roles in numerous trials and private arbitrations across the U.S., taken and defended hundreds of depositions, argued numerous dispositive motions, and worked with dozens of expert witnesses on issues of liability and damages.

Dave has given presentations on a variety of litigation topics, including the use of experts, conducting depositions and interviews, and managing issues of e-discovery and global data privacy rules. His article, "The Dark Side of the Boom: The Peculiar Dilemma of Government Spoliation in Modern False Claims Act Litigation," was published in the Cleveland-Marshall College of Law Journal of Law and Health, Volume 26, Issue 2 (2013).

Dave maintains an active pro bono practice, including efforts to obtain Section 8 housing vouchers for homeless families and to increase the disability ratings for veterans. He also supervises the Firm's work at the Landlord Tenant Resource Center in Washington, D.C.
