David Schecter litigates complex commercial and intellectual property disputes in federal and state courts. He has particular experience litigating claims brought under the Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations Act, the Lanham Act, the Copyright Act, and the U.S. Patent Act. As a judicial clerk for a federal judge participating in a patent pilot program, David worked on claim construction and dispositive motions in patent litigation.

David also represents clients facing government investigations into possible criminal or civil liability for violating various federal statutes, such as the Sherman Act, the Clayton Act, the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act, and Title 8 of the United States Code (Aliens and Nationality).

David maintains an active pro bono practice. He currently represents a former lawful permanent resident in his efforts to invalidate a prior removal order based on the client's plea of no contest to one count of nonviolent resisting arrest.

Prior to joining Jones Day, David was a midfielder in Major League Lacrosse for the Philadelphia Barrage.
