Davis Sherman concentrates his practice in advising hospitals, colleges, and other tax-exempt corporations and underwriters in the arranging of tax-exempt bond financing for capital projects. He also represents clients in project financings and corporate mergers and acquisitions.

As a regular participant in tax-exempt revenue bond financings in a variety of settings, Mr. Sherman efficiently manages the complex interface between the multiple players in a major capital project financing.

Significant Matters
As counsel to The Johns Hopkins University, Mr. Sherman helped the University update its debt structure through the issuance of $355,000,000 of taxable bonds, $99,625,000 of tax-exempt bonds, implementation of standby liquidity facilities supporting variable rate debt and commercial paper, and implementation of lines of credit.

As counsel to Frederick Memorial Hospital, Mr. Sherman helped the hospital in the issuance of $166,260,000 of tax exempt revenue bonds in two series, one a fixed rate series and the other a multi modal series initially issued for a ten year period at a floating rate based on LIBOR.

Activities
Mr. Sherman serves as a Director of the Library Company of the Baltimore Bar, Chairman of the Board of Kernan Hospital, President of the Kernan Endowment and former Director of the Board of Child Care and Treasurer of the Maryland Humanities Council. He is also a Director of the Board of Baltimore Design School.
