Dennis Clifford is Board Certified in Labor and Employment Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization, and Texas Super Lawyers Magazine has named him a “Rising Star” among employment litigators for several consecutive years. He is a faculty member with the National Institute for Trial Advocacy (“NITA”) and a former instructor of trial advocacy at the University of Houston Law Center.

Dennis frequently represents clients in class and collective actions involving claims for overtime pay. He has successfully defeated class certification in several cases, and his representative cases are frequently cited by practitioners. He also regularly advises employers on wage-and-hour issues, including exempt-status classifications, commission plans, day-rate plans, travel pay, training pay, per diem pay, and pre- and post-shift activities.

Dennis also defends employers against discrimination, harassment, and retaliation claims arising under state and federal law, including Title VII, the FMLA, the Texas Labor Code, the ADEA, and the ADA. He has defeated numerous employment claims in state and federal courts across the country. He also regularly counsels clients on employment issues, including hiring practices, workplace investigations, drug testing, corrective actions, leave-of-absence issues, and employment agreements, including non-compete and non-solicitation matters.
