Derek J. Dilberian is an associate in Morgan Lewis’s Labor and Employment Practice. Mr. Dilberian represents employers in all aspects and stages of employment litigation, focusing on wage and hour actions under the Fair Labor Standards Act. He defends his clients against claims of harassment, retaliation, and discrimination based on race, national origin, age, religion, and veteran status, and has obtained favorable judgments and orders of dismissal from state and federal courts and arbitration panels, as well as "no cause" findings from the EEOC.
Prior to joining Morgan Lewis, Mr. Dilberian clerked for Judge Kevin Thomas Duffy of the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York. Mr. Dilberian received his J.D., cum laude, from the University of Florida Levin College of Law in 2006, where he served as the notes and comments editor for the Florida Law Review and received book awards for corporations and legal research and writing. Mr. Dilberian received his B.S., magna cum laude, in general business with a minor in psychology at The College of New Jersey in 2003, where he also received first honors in general business and was inducted into the honor societies of Phi Kappa Phi and Beta Gamma Sigma.
Mr. Dilberian is admitted to practice in Florida and New York and before the U.S. District Courts for the Northern, Middle, and Southern Districts of Florida and the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York.
