Douglas G. Stanford

Douglas Stanford is of counsel and a real estate business lawyer with Foley & Lardner LLP and a member of the firm’s Real Estate Practice. Mr. Stanford is a commercial transactions attorney with experience in all aspects of real estate and asset-based commercial transactions.

His practice emphasis includes purchase and sale transactions; mortgage and asset-based financing; loan workouts and restructures; office and industrial park development, leasing and financing; hotel, resort, hospitality and club management and financing; shopping center, retail and restaurant development, leasing and financing; legal opinions; and title insurance. Mr. Stanford’s transactional experience also includes commercial mortgage-backed securities, sale-leaseback and bond-type lease transactions, REMIC and REIT representation, and mortgage foreclosures, deed-in-Iieu transactions and resale of bank REO assets.

Mr. Stanford has represented a variety of clients with real estate interests in Florida and throughout the Southeastern United States, working on many high-profile regional projects involving development, financing or leasing issues and arrangements.

Prior to joining Foley, Mr. Stanford was a commercial real estate transactions partner with Broad and Cassel.
