Douglas J. Elsbeck

Doug Elsbeck is an associate in the New York office of King & Spalding and a member of the firm’s Capital Transactions and Real Estate practice group. Mr. Elsbeck’s practice focuses on fund formation and offerings, secondary transactions, public and private merger and acquisition transactions, joint venture transactions, equity syndication transactions and representation of REIT and real estate companies. Mr. Elsbeck also has experience with corporate finance transactions, securities matters and public company reporting and disclosure requirements.

Selected transactions include:

Representation of AMB Property, L.P. in connection with the formation of its €470 million joint venture with Allianz Real Estate to acquire, own and operate logistics real estate in the eurozone;

Representation of Arcapita Bank B.S.C.(c) in connection with a sale of interests in five of Arcapita’s portfolio companies to funds managed by an undisclosed secondary market private equity firm;

Representation of MGPA Limited in connection with the ongoing operations of its five real estate private equity funds;

Representation of Paladin Realty Latin America Investors III, LP in connection with a $65 million credit facility with the Overseas Private Investment Corporation, an agency of the U.S. government; and

Representation of sponsors in the formation of a broad range of real estate investment funds focused on a variety of asset classes, including debt, residential and industrial, and targeting various geographies, including the United States, Latin America, Europe and Asia.

Mr. Elsbeck received his Juris Doctor, with honors, from the University of Texas School of Law and served as an associate editor on the Texas Journal of Oil, Gas, and Energy Law. Prior to studying law, Mr. Elsbeck received his Bachelor of Arts, magna cum laude, in Economics from DePauw University.
