Ward Winslow's practice focuses on capital markets transactions, restructurings, and corporate governance and counseling matters. His capital markets practice includes investment grade and high-yield debt offerings, public and private equity offerings, and equity-linked products, including convertible and exchangeable bond offerings. In addition, Ward regularly works with the Firm's restructuring team on complex corporate reorganizations, focusing on distressed and other debt transactions such as debt tender offers and buy-backs, and exchange offers. Ward's corporate governance and counseling practice involves advising public and private companies on matters relating to securities regulations and disclosure, governance, financing strategies and alternatives, and shareholder activism.

Ward counsels a diverse range of companies, their boards of directors, and financial institutions. Some of the clients he has recently worked with include Brentwood Associates, ConAgra Foods, Dow Corning, Jefferies, Lennox International, OGE Energy, Oncor, Potash Corporation of Saskatchewan, SanDisk, Starbucks, USG, Ventas, Veolia, and Wolverine Tube.

Ward has served on the Corporate Champions Board of Ann and Robert H. Lurie Children's Hospital of Chicago.
