Edward L. Douma

Ed's practice focuses on the financing of term and revolving assets, the formation of private investment funds and other capital market financings and restructuring transactions. His experience includes the representation of issuers, investment banks and credit enhancement providers in connection with mortgage-backed and asset-backed structured finance transactions and the representation of management and investors in the formation and operation of private equity funds investing in securitized assets.

Ed has developed/designed structures for the commutation of financial guaranty insurance policies in connection with corporate restructuring programs for mono-line insurance companies. He also has extensive experience in establishing commercial paper and term securitization programs, including the structuring, negotiating and documenting of domestic and international transactions for the financing of residential and commercial mortgages, small business loans, auto loans, future receivables, computer leases, equipment leases, trade receivables, synthetic leases, corporate debt and other financial assets.
