Edward L. Ripley

Ed Ripley

is a partner in the Houston office and a member of the firm’s Financial Restructuring Practice. He brings more than two decades of experience representing and advising business clients in out-of-court workouts and Chapter 11 reorganizations. Mr. Ripley has extensive experience in negotiating and confirming complex plans of reorganization as well as litigating contested matters and adversary proceedings throughout the country. He works with clients in a variety of industries with particular experience in oil and gas, healthcare, retail, construction, biotechnology, real estate and utilities.

Mr. Ripley’s clients include debtors in possession, creditors’ committees, secured creditors, bond holders, suppliers and parties acquiring assets out of bankruptcy. He is a frequent speaker and author on a variety of bankruptcy topics. Mr. Ripley is also an Adjunct Professor at the University of Houston Law School teaching classes on Chapter 11.
