Edward S. Evans III

Ted Evans concentrates his practice on complex real estate matters, including land acquisition, development, management and disposition, with a focus on hospitality and lodging properties, as well as hospital facilities and medical office buildings; equity investments and commercial finance; retail, office and medical office leasing; and workouts of defaulted CMBS loans, including discounted payoffs and deed-in-lieu arrangements.

Representative Clients
Mr. Evans' clients have included Marriott International, Inc., Fannie Mae, CWCapital Asset Management, LLC, C-III Asset Management LLC, Midland Loan Services, Anne Arundel Health System, and Doctors Community Hospital.

Significant Matters
Mr. Evans has been involved in a number of significant commercial real estate transactions, including:

Serving as lead counsel in connection with the development of over 1,000 housing units situated in close proximity to Ft. Meade, including the negotiation of purchase and sale agreements, memoranda of understanding with Anne Arundel County and the State of Maryland, and development agreements.
Serving as lead counsel with respect to the restructuring of a hotel portfolio comprised of 71 hotels with a combined value in excess of $1.0 billion.
Serving as a principal member of the real estate team that negotiated and consummated a transaction involving the purchase, disposition and management of hotels with a combined purchase price in excess of $1.4 billion.
On behalf of four special servicers, serving as lead real estate counsel with respect to 62 loan restructurings related to the bankruptcy filings of the TIC sponsor affecting mortgage loans on commercial properties located in 21 states.
