Edward Young is a retired partner in the Corporate Practice Group. He joined the firm in 1975 and retired at the end of 2009. Mr. Young concentrated his practice in mergers and acquisitions, proxy contests, other complex corporate and securities transactions, and corporate counseling. He represented buyers and sellers in mergers and acquisitions in a variety of industries, including technology, biotech, financial products and services, broadcasting, manufacturing, management consulting and retailing.

Practice

Mr. Young represnted publicly-disclosed proxy contest clients and advised numerous companies and institutional investors in connection with proxy contests that were settled privately by negotiation and remained confidential. He also represented clients in the acquisition and sale of companies, and served as counsel to special committees of independent directors in connection with M&A proposals that involved conflicts of interest.

Mr. Young's practice also encompassed corporate counseling and other complex corporate and securities transactions. These included leveraged buyouts, public and private offerings of securities, partnership syndications and large financing transactions. His clients included publicly-owned and closely-held companies in diverse industries.
