Edwin J. Foster Jr

Edwin J. Foster, Jr. is a member of the firm’s corporate practice group where he represents entrepreneurs, emerging businesses, public and private companies and venture capital investors in the sports, fashion, life sciences, technology and media and entertainment industries.

Mr. Foster’s representation ranges from the structuring and organizing of start-up and early-stage companies through the negotiation of venture capital and other financings, licensing transactions, public offerings, joint ventures, mergers and acquisitions and other strategic transactions. Mr. Foster’s experience includes the negotiation of technology, sports, celebrity, creative talent services, and executive and employee compensation arrangements in connection with television and film productions, live-stage and recorded performances, new media and content distributions, advertising, branding and corporate sponsorships, event promotions and various investment opportunities.

Prior to joining Duane Morris, Mr. Foster's experience included advising public and private companies, professional sports franchises, entertainment and sports agencies, funds and investors on matters of corporate governance, finance, fund formation and securities laws and on a wide range of strategic transactions, including U.S. and cross-border mergers, acquisitions, financings, joint ventures, minority investments, spin-offs, capital raises and the negotiation of commercial, IP licensing and executive compensation agreements.

Mr. Foster received his B.A. from Yale University, where he was recognized as a Bill & Melinda Gates Millennium Scholar, and received his J.D. from the University of Pennsylvania Law School, where he earned a certificate of study in Business Economics and Public Policy at the Wharton School of Business. He is a member of the Entertainment, Arts and Sports Law Section of the New York State Bar Association.
