Hugh Robertson is a partner in the New York office of Milbank, Tweed, Hadley & McCloy and leader of the firm’s Transportation and Space Group. A partner since 1987, Mr. Robertson practiced at Milbank’s London office from 1981 to 1984 and at Milbank’s Hong Kong office from 1986 to 1989.
Mr. Robertson has extensive experience representing airlines, underwriters, lenders and lessors in aircraft finance matters including EETC transactions, note offerings, acquisition financings, aircraft portfolio securitizations, airline bankruptcies and domestic and cross-border leases. Mr. Robertson’s experience also includes financings of aircraft engines and flight simulators and other extensions of credit to the airline sector. Mr. Robertson has lectured widely on the subject of aircraft financing.
Mr. Robertson’s experience extends to rail and vessel financing as well as general corporate lending.
Mr. Robertson is consistently ranked in Chambers USA for his expertise in Aviation Finance and as a “Leading Lawyer” in The Legal 500. He is also listed as one of the Best Lawyers in America.
Mr. Robertson received his Bachelor’s degree from Yale University and his law degree from the University of Virginia. He is a member of the TriBar Opinion Committee.
Mr. Robertson is a member of the American and New York State Bar Associations.
